Arden Photonics Ltd was founded in 2001, and began developing, manufacturing and selling innovative products for the photonics industry all over the world. The business prides itself on being able to provide technical consultancy in the areas of optical fibre and laser metrology.
Prior to the transfer, Arden would meet their previous accountants annually to discuss the financial side of the business.
The firm operated a traditional accounting system which placed a significant time burden on the finance team and limited the reporting functionality.
By transferring to Xero, a cloud based software, both Arden and Prime can access their accounting records simultaneously meaning that any anomalies or errors can be picked up and corrected in real time, rather than waiting until the year end to investigate this.
Prime Accountants Group strive to be approachable and are always available to help. We ensured a smooth transition for Arden by setting up the software and providing training on Xero, to ensure the process was simplified as much as possible for them. We know that each and everyone of our clients are different, so we aim to provide a bespoke system suited to our client’s exact needs and wants.
Although accounting can be a complex subject, Xero is user friendly even for those with no accounting knowledge. Data entry is now much quicker thanks to the direct bank feed, and the company now has all the necessary KPIs at their finger tips on a real time basis. With Making Tax Digital for VAT coming into force from April 2019, all businesses that are registered for VAT and have turnover greater than £85,000, will have to submit their VAT returns through accredited software. Utilising software like Xero will mean that you comply with the new regulations however more importantly you will take control of your business finances for your own benefit and not just the tax man’s.
