Support for businesses

The government have announced a series of measures to support business. For those in the hospitality & retail sectors there is assistance in the form of business rates relief and grant funding where rateable value of business premises is below £51,000.

This support is being managed through local authorities; further details on this and of enhanced statutory sick pay scheme can be found here.

Included within this are also details of the business interruption loan scheme which is due to be introduced next week. Under this scheme the government will act as guarantor to the bank for 80% of the loan and will meet the cost of interest for the first 6 months.
