Here at Prime, we aim to raise money for our chosen charity as often as possible. For our most recent efforts, a group of our new starters went out to visit the team at Birmingham Children's Hospital and took part in their Apprentice Challenge. The team, consisting of our trainee accountants Hannah Thomas, Hannah Collins, James Pickering, Haroon Gulfraz, Shorif Masu and Lemar Chandegra, arrived at the hospital and firstly had a tour of the wards, before sitting down to learn more about the challenge.

The team had to try and raise £500 in a 3 hour time slot that afternoon, whilst they had just 45 minutes to plan their approach. The group set up a Just Giving page to collect donations and got the word out by contacting friends and family by phone and by posting on social media.

After an hour, the team had raised £425 and were only £75 away from reaching their target. After 3 hours of ringing friends and family and shaking buckets outside the hospital the team managed to raise an amazing £1,100 for the charity!

The funds raised will help the hospital in many ways, as for just £5 they could pay for a giggle doctor to spend an hour with a patient to make them smile, and for £10 they could provide stimulation and development toys for babies suffering from respiratory problems. Everyone at Prime is proud of the team for their efforts in this challenge and we are sure the amount raised will be able to provide much needed support to make the children's stay in hospital a lot more comfortable during an already difficult time.

This month we will also be raising funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital by selling samosas in the office, whilst the final plans are put in place for our next big fundraising challenge which we can't wait to reveal more about soon!
