A quick glance at the headlines reveals we are in un-chartered waters!

The PM's unlawful; Greta is running moral rings around the UN and Global Multinationals; the Labour Party continues to self-destruct; Donald Trump; China; Wild Fires in Brazil, California, Australia and Lancashire! The Rugby World Cup has started and England might get beaten by The USA!

What should we do? Greta says we must not give up! And I'd suggest we focus on what we can control and influence, for ourselves and for the ones we love.

Why not try this. Write down the three things you'd most like people to say about you. For me that would be things like, 'Tim is Kind, funny, clever, hard working and fair'. (Rather than 'slimy, manipulative, lazy or immoral!'

And then everyday, as I do my teeth, or close my eyes I ask myself, (inspired by Heather Small,) What have a done today to make me feel proud?' (You could even try singing it!)

If I have not done enough then I need to try to do better.

If you are feeling really brave, you could try asking your partners at work and at a home, What do you like about me?'

Try to find out which of your behaviours and habits make them feel really happy and proud of you. And any areas you need to improve! Ask them to congratulate you when you demonstrate great behaviour, and challenge you to be brave enough to find more time to do more of the things you love.

In my case this has led to me changing some ideas of what is really important to me and those I love and work with. No one is perfect, but not helping ourselves or each other to get better is a surefire way of finding failure! Being braver helps me to deliver on my promises, helps my team to deliver more of theirs, and for all of us to stay truer to our morals and our ethics.

It also gives me a moral justification to spend more time to watching the Rugby World Cup!
