We recognise that, as a local business, we have a responsibility to the local community.
Prime Accountants Group takes its role within the wider community seriously and has been involved in a number of fundraising and charity projects in its history. We recognise that, as a local business, we have a responsibility to the local community.
We have taken part in large fundraising activities such as the gold postbox cycling challenge in 2013, where Prime employees and guest riders cycled to all 62 Olympic Gold postboxes nationwide, raising £30,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
In 2015, Prime masterminded the second of its charity challenges to raise vital funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Taking the classic Three Peaks challenge two steps further, the firm introduced the 3Ps challenge – a gruelling combination of pedals, paddles and peaks which raised an impressive £25,000.
In 2017-18 our nominated charities were Zoe’s Place in Coventry and SoLO in Solihull. We hosted a firewalking evening where 25 members of staff walked across burning hot coals, raising £5,000, and took part in Cyclone24, a 24-hour endurance challenge cycling around the velodrome in Derby. A team of six riders took part and raised £3,000.
In addition to our charity commitments, we also support other local institutions, such as Albany Theatre, for which Prime consultant Laurence Moore is a trustee. We also welcome work experience students from Arden School in Solihull and sponsor an award at Solihull College’s graduation ceremony.
Prime’s directors also play an active role in the local business community. Jamie Skelding is a board member of Coventry and Warwickshire First, which is the only forum exclusively for professional and financial services firms in the region. Director Kevin Johns is part of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce executive committee and is also the current Chairman of Solihull BID, while Steve Harcourt is the President of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
