Prime vs Everest: Fundraising for Birmingham Children’s Hospital

Our latest fundraising feat was a huge success and we’ve smashed our £100,000 target.

Our latest charity challenge

At Prime Accountants, we’re not afraid of big numbers. That’s why our team pledged to take on a mountain-sized mission for our chosen charity, Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Collectively, we climbed 61,950 metres – SEVEN times the height of Mt. Everest – in just 24 hours for this incredible cause. Our aim was to raise £19,000 to take our total for BCH to £100,000 – but we managed to raise an incredible £30,000!

Read on to find out how you can continue supporting our team and donate to this amazing charity.

Kerrie Given, associate director at Prime Accountants, said: “Any donation large or small can help change children’s lives. Every pound raised will go directly to supporting the work of Birmingham Children’s Hospital.”

To date, our team has raised an incredible £112,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH) through a series of ambitious charity challenges, including a gruelling combination of pedals, paddles and peaks.

The money raised from our latest challenge will go to support BCH’s partnership with the BAFTA-winning charity MediCinema to build a cinema inside its hospital.

The challenge

To hit our target, the Prime team climbed 61,950 metres of elevation on five treadmills, set to a punishing incline.

Kerrie added: “To see how together everyone was, how genuine the smiles were and the dancing and laughter when we realised we’d hit £30,000 was just incredible.

“The overwhelming feeling was pride – pride in what we do, pride in what we are and pride in the Midlands.

“Many of our team brought their children along, who were there shaking their buckets and were so confident when they were talking to members of the public.

“It’s great to show them that hard work and perseverance pays off – and in this case, our hard work literally paid off!

“This money is going to help families at BCH to make their stays that little bit easier, and give them special moments together. Those good memories can make everything feel better.”
