Leading local accountant wins President’s Award at Solihull Chamber Awards 2026

Kevin Johns, Director of the leading local accounting firm Prime Accountants, was the recipient of the President’s Award at the Solihull Chamber Awards 2026.

Hosted on Friday 11 September by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, the awards sought to celebrate the incredible work of local businesses, with 12 awards dedicated to spotlighting the talent found in the area.

Alongside these prizes, the President’s Award was granted to a person of excellent reputation who had dedicated their career to improving the prospects of the local economy by supporting business owners.

With over 30 years of experience in advising SMEs on their accounting needs, Kevin is a worthy recipient of the award.

Never one to be bogged down by accountancy jargon, Kevin’s straightforward approach to supporting clients has given them the confidence to handle the challenges and triumphs of the economy for the past three decades.

Managing Director at Prime, Morgan Davies, reflected on the achievement and the long career they have shared.

“Having worked with Kevin for decades, I am delighted but not surprised that he is getting this recognition,” Morgan said. “His commitment to excellence shines through in all of the work that he does. Our clients truly benefit from his expertise.”

Having served as a past President of Solihull Chamber of Commerce, Kevin is currently a member of the executive committee and Chairman of the Solihull BID.

He was also awarded the British Empire Medal in 2019 for services to Solihull.

Reflecting on the award, Kevin said: “I have worked to do what’s best for the people around me.

“Every business knows that it is not just one leader that makes them successful but that it’s the team that is built around them and you can only do that by allowing them to thrive.

“Without the support my family have given me over the last 33 years of building Prime to what it is today, I would not have achieved anything.

“Thank you to the team at Prime and to the Chamber – it’s not hardship when you love what you do and I have loved everything I have done, and continue to do, at Prime and being part of the Chamber.”

The ethos of supporting and celebrating clients’ successes led to Prime Accountants sponsoring the Solihull Breakthrough Business category at the Solihull Chamber Awards 2026.
