Head of Private Client (Tax)

Andrew brings extensive experience in advising high-net-worth individuals, international families, and trustees on complex private client tax matters. He specialises in inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning, working closely with UK-based and overseas clients to protect and structure wealth across generations with clarity and confidence.

With a particular interest in UK family-owned businesses, including farming and landed estates, Andrew understands the commercial, personal, and emotional considerations that often sit alongside technical tax decisions. His advice is practical, forward-looking, and carefully tailored, helping clients navigate succession planning, asset transfers, and long-term wealth preservation in a way that supports their wider family and business objectives.

Andrew trained and developed his expertise at leading professional services firms including Deloitte, PwC, and Grant Thornton. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, a Trust and Estate Practitioner, and a member of the Association of Tax Technicians. He is also actively involved in the profession through his role on the ICAEW Tax Faculty’s Private Client Committee, ensuring he remains at the forefront of legislative and technical developments.

A respected voice within the tax profession, Andrew regularly writes for the professional press, including contributions to Croner-i’s Tax Weekly and the ICAEW’s TAXline, where he provides insight on topical private client issues and planning considerations.

Outside of work, Andrew lives in Rugby with his family and enjoys a busy home life with four adult children and two cats.
