Accounts director Viv Shadbolt has marked his first anniversary at Prime Accountants Group. He looks back on the last 12 months and the growth in firms seeking independent accounting advice in Birmingham.
Decades of experience in Birmingham accounting
Accounts director Viv has more than 30 years’ experience in audit and accounts, qualifying at an independent Birmingham firm where he first met Prime managing director Morgan Davies.
He has been a director for 25 years and has considerable experience acting for small, medium and large companies, pension schemes, charities and owner-managed businesses.

Viv said a lot of the Birmingham clients he’s worked with in his first year wanted to move over to Prime because they were feeling unloved by the large firms they were with.
He added: “People move across because we’re passionately independent at Prime and will be staying that way.
“For businesses worried about the future, we are able to say that by staying independent with Prime, you know who you will be dealing with and they will all be of a similar nature – putting clients first.”
Viv has spent his entire career in Birmingham and said joining Prime Accountants Group “felt like coming home.”
“There’s a real family feel and it’s great to be working somewhere which is interested in owner-managed clients. Our clients like the fact that we run our own small business here, so the problems clients are encountering are familiar to us,” added Viv.

Viv said that his many years of experience have taught him that if a client is an independent person, they will benefit from having an independent firm of accountants.
