Greener Schools Award Sustainability Sponsorship

Empowering the Next Generation:

Celebrating Sustainability and Community with the Mayor of Solihull

Greener Schools Award with St. Alphege School

At Prime Accountants Group, sustainability is more than just a corporate responsibility – it’s a core value that underpins our mission to support the community and protect the environment for future generations. Our recent sponsorship of the Greener Schools Award for St. Augustine’s School in Solihull provided a remarkable opportunity to witness the power of young minds driving real change.

A Showcase of Ingenuity and Environmental Leadership

The award ceremony was an uplifting experience for Kerrie Given and Paul Guise, as each school who participated showcased their innovative and impactful achievements in sustainability. From creative projects to collaborative efforts, it was inspiring to witness the passion and ingenuity these young leaders are bringing to the table. Their dedication to making a difference demonstrates how small, thoughtful actions can create lasting change for a greener, healthier future.

The students’ efforts served as a powerful reminder: sustainability doesn’t have to be complex. Small, thoughtful actions, when multiplied, have the potential to create lasting change. The future is in safe hands, thanks to these young leaders who are reshaping their communities and setting a high standard for environmental responsibility.

St. Augustine’s Inspiring Initiatives

As sponsors, we had the privilege of sharing feedback on St. Augustine’s application, which stood out for its innovative and practical sustainability projects. One of the most impressive was their “Walk to School Week”, an initiative that encouraged students to walk, scoot, or cycle instead of driving. This simple yet effective program not only reduced carbon emissions but also promoted healthier lifestyles for the students and their families – a dual benefit that resonates deeply with us at Prime as we tackle similar challenges in reducing commuting emissions.

Another initiative that captured our attention was their commitment to litter picking, a hands-on effort to improve their local environment. As a business, we value community-driven activities like this, having hosted our own litter-picking events in the past. Seeing these efforts reflected in the younger generation was heartening and reaffirmed our belief in the importance of community collaboration.

“We are thrilled to share our feedback on St. Augustine’s application for the Greener School Award. One initiative that really stood out to us was your “Walk to School Week“. Encouraging students to walk, scoot, or cycle not only reduces emissions but also promotes healthier lifestyles – something we can relate to as we’re measuring our carbon footprint, with commuting being one of our biggest challenges. We’re excited to take some inspiration from your approach to help tackle our own commuting emissions.

We were also impressed by your litter picking efforts. This is something we as a business love to do as well! We have in the past got our families, friends, and even our dogs involved. It’s a wonderful way to give back to the local environment, just as you’ve done at St. Augustine’s.

Your enthusiasm for sustainability is truly inspiring. Thank you for leading the way and showing us how small actions can make a big difference!”

Building Relationships and Recognising Excellence

The event also provided an opportunity to connect with other businesses and organisations who share our passion for sustainability. Through relationships and collaborations we can see a vision in the future where we are all working to our full potential in order to achieve a Net Zero Carbon Emissions. It was a pleasure for Paul and, Associate Director, Kerrie Given to meet the Mayor of Solihull, who attended to celebrate the achievements of the students and recognise the contributions of sponsors like Prime Accountants Group.

A Shared Commitment to a Greener Future

At Prime Accountants Group, we view sustainability as a journey that we must travel to achieve Net Zero by 2030. Sponsoring the Greener Schools Award aligns perfectly with our broader carbon reduction strategy, and events like this reaffirm our commitment to building a greener, more sustainable future.

Congratulations to St. Augustine’s School and all the participating schools for their outstanding efforts. Your work inspires us to continue pushing forward, not only in our business practices but also in our support for initiatives that drive meaningful change.

The Greener Schools Award has left an lasting impression, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with the community to create a brighter tomorrow.
